Growing Innovations - Las Vegas 2018
DESIGN BRIEF: Growing Innovations is a new event focused on the processes of farming specialty crops like berries, nuts, and citrus. The client would like to see designs for key show management areas that will function to inform and engage attendees in the exhibit hall.
DESIGN IDEA
The initial concept is to use the farming cycle as a model for the layout of the exhibit hall. Exhibitors whose services/ products are connected to one of the processes in the cycle will exhibit in that section. This allows Growing Innovations to tell a story and curate a route around the exhibit hall for the attendees.
The key show management areas are added to the floor plan design in spaces that create destinations on the show floor. By adding theaters and cafes at intersections the attendee has clear and consistent engagement from the client. The central area becomes a showcase for future innovation and groundbreaking work to help solve problems facing agriculture.
BARN TALKS MINI THEATER
This theater is for Ted Talk-style interaction. Exhibitors can book the space for specific sessions or it can be used for show management-focused engagement. The space is semi-private so that attendees can watch from outside if the space is full. The idea is to keep the attendees in the exhibit hall so key meeting/session-style areas, such as these, allow the attendees to get the content they came for, while never straying too far from the exhibitors.
The style of the theater is a barn. Barns exist to solve many real problems for farmers; Animal shelter and production like milking, Crop storage and feeding, Vehicle and equipment shelter and repair, and any combination of these functions. This design is an homage to the multifunctional use of the barn. Here exhibitors from different sections of the farming cycle can use the barn to educate, engage, and inspire the attendees.
ORCHARD CAFE
This cafe is a space for attendees to relax in a crowded exhibit hall. The space will be sponsored and admittance will be by invitation only, food and beverage will be provided. This is an opportunity for companies to have a presence in the exhibit hall without having to buy a booth.
The style of the cafe design is an orchard. The function of an orchard is for food production however they are also used as spaces that provide opportunities for community gathering and engagement. The space is semi-private so it is intimate, but still offers a view of what is happening on the show floor.
FUTURE FARM
In this central area of the exhibit hall attendees can congregate and experience innovation through the use of VR. Exhibitors can sponsor the space and introduce attendees to their new products or services in a fun interactive way. This space is the hub of the floor plan, no matter where you are in the farming cycle, everything is reliant on innovation.
GRAPHICS
The sign templates are inspired by the show logo. Inside the cog, there are images of the types of farming represented at the show.
ENTRANCE
The entrance acts as a portal into the Growing Innovations farmland. The design is based on the graphic look of the show.
