20 X 50 Cushman & Wakefield Exhibit Booth
CoreNet Global Summit 2018
DESIGN BRIEF: Design a visibly welcoming space where the exhibitor can network with potential clients and close deals on Real Estate. The space must demand attention in the exhibit hall as the client wants to be regarded as "the big dog" in the Commercial Real Estate Industry. DESIGN INSPIRATION
Patchwork City 65 by Marilyn Henrion
Patchwork qualities are created by texture, reflections & negative space.
Practical application & initial idea
A smart panel structure with both transparent and opaque fabric panels helps create a patchwork effect on the booth facade
In this initial concept, the booth is organized into two different types of space. Firstly, a private meeting area where the exhibitor can meet with existing customers. Second, an open networking area for prospective clients. Like the city, the booth holds multiple functions: a space for business and a space to meet and take in the surrounding environment.
Flat rectangular banners create the canopy of the booth. A play on the negative space that frames the roof of the cityscape. This gives the booth the illusion of intimacy without closing it off completely.
iPads on the side of the booth are an opportunity to quickly search properties before starting a dialog with the exhibitor. Attendees can quickly inquire away from the booth's hustle and bustle.
Modified design
The initial concept was approved with minor changes. The canopy banners needed to have more impact and be larger in order to brand and inform from across the exhibit hall.
The new banner design further promotes the intimate feel of the booth by covering a larger area of ceiling space. The diagonal lines mirror those in the graphics, adding balance to the two spaces.
